Temporary Food Permit & Health Requirements
for All Food Vendors

To participate in the Kimchi & K-Food Festival (Sept 5–6, 2025) as a food vendor, you are required to obtain approval from Fraser Health.
Below is a summary of the minimum health and safety requirements for operating a temporary food service establishment:

  1. A canopy or roof cover is required. If the ground is wet, muddy, or dusty, approved flooring may also be required.

  2. All food must come from an approved source. Food prepared or stored in a private home is not permitted.

  3. Pre-packaged food must be individually labeled with the name and address of the person or facility that packaged it.

  4. Only single-use (disposable) dishes and utensils are permitted unless approved dishwashing methods are provided.

  5. All food contact surfaces must be smooth, non-absorbent, and easy to clean.

  6. Food must be served in a safe and sanitary manner by staff. Self-service is not allowed, except for pre-packaged items.

  7. Food, utensils, and workspaces must be protected from contamination at all times.

  8. Hot food must be kept at 60°C (140°F) or higher, and cold food at 4°C (40°F) or lower. Thermometers must be provided on-site.

  9. Food handlers must maintain good personal hygiene, wear clean clothing, and no smoking is allowed in food areas.

  10. If preparing potentially hazardous food (e.g. meat, poultry, seafood, eggs), a handwashing station with hot & cold potable water, soap, and paper towels is required.

  11. Covered, lined garbage containers must be available and emptied regularly.

  12. At least one FOODSAFE Level 1 certified person must be present at the booth during the event.

  13. A Food Safety Plan and Sanitation Plan must be available at the event and followed by the food vendor.

  14. If reusing utensils, a two-compartment sink with hot & cold water must be provided, unless otherwise approved.

  15. An approved sink may also serve as a handwashing station if permitted by the EHO.

  16. Water supply lines must be approved potable waterlines and equipped with a backflow prevention device.

Vendor Booth

Apply to operate a booth for product or brand promotion.

  • Food Vendor: $400 for 2 days (Sold out)

  • Retail Vendor: $300 for 2 days (Sold out)

  • Booth Setup: Table 8ft x 2.5ft (Chair 2pcs), Tent 10ft x 10ft

  • Setup Time: September 4, 6PM – 8PM (Only 2hr) / September 5, 8AM – 11AM

  • Application Deadline: August 15, 2025

  • Operating Hours: September 5–6, 2025, 12PM – 8PM

Final booth assignments will be announced by the organizing committee via email prior to the event. Please note that applicants cannot select specific booth locations.
